Manage Your Life, Not
Your Time... (Achieving Life Balance) by Isaac "Ike" Nuru
Have you ever stopped to consider how to manage your life, and not
just your time?
The majority of people keep a calendar of some sort, whether it is
paper or electronic. On that calendar can be found all of the important
"To Do" items that make up one's life: picking up suits from the dry
cleaners, meetings, doctor's appointments, and maybe which bills are
due when. What a sense of accomplishment we feel when we can check
these items off! Wow, we really got stuff done, huh?
Great, so we got "stuff" done. And? Besides that sense of accomplishment,
did it do anything else to enhance our lives?
"The Most Depressing Day
of the Year!"
by Isaac "Ike" Nuru
"Is the midwinter weather wearing you down? Are you sinking in
debt after the holidays? Angry with yourself for already breaking
your New Year's resolutions? Wish you could crawl back under the
covers and not have to face another day of rain, sleet, snow and
paperwork? Probably."
What an unusual title and introduction for an article on achieving
life balance- - but keep reading-it, only, gets better! I came across
this story and introduction regarding Dr. Cliff Arnall, a British
Psychologist, who created a formula that allowed him to calculate
the "most depressing day" of the year. Dr. Arnall specializes in
seasonal disorder at the University of Cardiff, Wales, and his calculations
[supposedly] show the "misery" peak date [of the year.] Read

Winning Is A Habit.
Unfortunately, So Is Losing!
by Isaac "Ike" Nuru
"Vince Lambardi, famous football coach, stated in his speech, What
It Takes To Be Number One: "Winning is not a sometime thing; it's
an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do
things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning
is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing."
Those last two short sentences should be read again and taken to heart.
I have a copy of Coach Lambardi's speech in a frame by my computer.
When I first read those two insightful sentences: "Winning is a
habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." It wasn't too difficult for
me to believe that "losing" was a habit. (smile) But I had never heard
anyone say that "winning is a habit." I always thought certain people
won more often than others because they were either blessed at birth
or just plain lucky, including great football coaches.
